The block is hot this year—
perhaps I’ll jump in my riot gear
& patrol until sundown towns fall
back in style. Go for a run in my riot gear,
on horseback through cobblestoned
boroughs & become one with my riot gear.
By dusk, I’m disrobed in my brownstone
with my baton & I hump my riot gear;
there’s no longer a face under my mask.
Under orders to trump in my riot gear.
